Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq are being represented this year at the Canadian Native Fastpitch Nationals by two teams from the We'koqma'q First Nation - the Men's Thunder "A" Division Team and the Ladybugs.

After two days of competition, here are the following scores:

Men's Division:
Game #1:  Thunder   1  vs.  Alexis (Alberta)  0   (forfeit - illegal player ruling)
Pitching:  Robert Bernard.  Hitting:  Harry Paul with 2 rbi's.

Game #2:  Thunder   2  vs.  BC Prince George 4 (extra inning loss)
Phil Martin with a tough extra inning loss - threw very well.
Harry Paul with a monster solo shot in the first inning.

Game #3:  Thunder 2  vs. Alberta 4
Thunder got off to a bad start, Robert Bernard started the game and allowed three runs in the first inning on two errors and three hits.  Phil Martin comes in and tries to shut the door, but Thunder could not come back and in the end a couple of bad calls by the umpires - Thunder end up losing game 4-2.

Thunder is now out of the nationals with a 1 - 2 record.

Women's Division:
Game #1:  Ladybugs  7  vs.  Alexis Jets (Alberta)  0
Highlights:  Holly Denny with a shutout victory as well as 6 RBI's and a homerun (over the fence) in her first at bat.  Player of the game as well.

Game #2:  Ladybugs  7  vs.  Sucker Creek (Alberta) 1
Highlights:  Holly Denny with the win and Becky Levi - triple and Game MVP.  Natalie Googoo & Beverley Denny also with hits.

Game #3:  Ladybugs 4   vs.  British Columbia 0

Game #4:  Ladybugs 2  vs.  Alberta 3  (Semi Final Game)
Ladybugs lose a really close game, heartbreaking ending to a rally that could've tied the game.  Maddy Sylliboy with a double to highlight the game.

Ladybugs will now play in another semi final game tomorrow at 11:30am (Alberta time).
