MYRACL GRASSROOTS MEETING

Date:  WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11TH, 2006
Time:  10:00AM - 3:00PM
Place:  TRURO BEST WESTERN GLENGARRY
Invitees:  COMMUNITY GRASSROOTS REPS,  
 MYRACL CO-CHAIRS & PHYS ED STAFF.

At this Grassroots Meeting, we will be discussing a number of updates and initiatives including but not limited to the following:

1. National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (April 2006) in Kahnawake, Que.
2. 2006 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) & Tryouts for teams
3. Official Launch of MYRACL's new website with community free webs
- Afternoon Portion includes training of Grassroot Members
4. Discussion on new MYRACL 5 Year Plan and Agreement with Tripartite Forum

MYRACL will be covering costs for hotel, travel and meals to individuals traveling from Cape Breton and Halifax West.  For the communities of Indianbrook, Millbrook, Pictou Landing, Paqtnkek & Halifax Friendship Ctr, we will be covering for travel and meals only. 

We are requesting that if possible, each individual should bring with them some type of mandate support letter from their community showing their involvement as a staff member, a volunteer or community committee member. 

Please contact Robert Bernard at 902-295-8200 (cellular) for more information and hotel rooms will need to be booked asap - Friday, January 6th, 2006 will be the deadline for rooms.  We will be trying to finish this meeting as close to 3:00pm as possible so that all individuals can travel back home that day.

ATLANTIC SPORT NETWORK EXECUTIVE
MEETING:

Date:  Wednesday, January 11th, 2006
Time:  7:00pm - 9:00pm
Place:  Moncton
Meeting Room:  TBA

The next Atlantic Sport Network (ASN) Executive Meeting will be taking place in Moncton, New Brunswick to prepare for some of the decisions that we will be making surrounding the 2007 Atlantic Aboriginal Summer Games, long term funding for MYRACL through the Tripartite Forum as well as the participation of Nova Scotia athletes surrounding the 2006 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and the 2006 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships slated for Kahnawake, Quebec in April 2006. 

Executive Members are asked to please confirm their attendance asap by contacting Heather Tubman at the Atlantic Policy Congress (APC) office or by contacting Tex Marshall at 902-578-3242.  Travel and other associated costs for the Executive Chiefs will be covered by the APCFNC and all other participants should be covered through their PTSAB.
