Our Mission Statement

Our organization is pleased to provide the following statement as its foundation for establishing healthy, active lifestyles for Mi'kmaw people across Nova Scotia...

"The Mission Statement of MYRACL is based on the principles of balance, on holistic choices, and building on the foundational pieces of living healthy, active lifestyles on a daily basis.  Improving the overall quality of life through regular physical activity and healthy eating will improve our ability to live longer lives.  We, as an organization, believe that we can do this by promoting well organized sport, recreation and healthy, active initiatives.  We believe that we also need to work to help educate our grassroots people as well as our leadership on how communities can begin to adopt the healthier ways of eating for all age groups in a safe, holistic and respectful manner".

MYRACL is aiming at educating the non-Aboriginal population on it’s visions, it’s values with the idea of developing more "holistic" athletes in the sporting communities and helping other Mi'kmaw organizations in the on-going effort to build better communities through health education and active living.
